Make a difference to innercity teens — and earn extra $$ — as a Publicolor Site Leader. Our Saturday staff teach the marketable skill of commercial painting (and so much more) to jr. high and high school students in struggling neighborhoods. Help students transform their school buildings and community sites into energized learning environments through the power of color and collaboration.
Hours are: 8am - 4pm Saturdays
Applicants must be willing to travel to every borough in New York City.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
Ability to paint and the desire/ability to teach these professional skills to youth
Enjoy working with inner-city youth ages 12-17
Must have superb organizational skills
Ability to supervise, coordinate and stay on schedule with large groups and lengthy projects
Must be able to lead and organize large groups of people
Superb people skills with the ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds
Must be an effective and upbeat communicator
Willingness to work hard and get dirty
Ability to take initiative and work as a team player
Sense of humor and emotional maturity
College degree required
