Women in Lighting and Design EVENT
Monday, December 16, 2019
Publicolor is a stay-in-school youth development program that engages high-risk students in their education 3 days a week for 4-6 years through a continuum of design-based programs that mentor them for success in college, career, and life.
Out of a desire to support this vitally important mission, Women in Lighting and Design (WILD) is hosting a holiday event and will donate proceeds to Publicolor, Inc.
Thank you for helping by donating, sharing information about Publicolor Inc., or doing both today!
TIME: 6:00pm to 8:30pm
LOCATION: Pyramid Lighting 227 W29th Street New York, NY 10001
Publicolor counters our alarming dropout rate by engaging disconnected students, ages 13-24, in their education through a continuum of design-based programs and academic support.
Unique to Publicolor, and central to our mission, is the beautification and revitalization of public and civic spaces through the power of color and design, the affordable medium of paint, and collaborations that engage students, volunteers, and the community as a whole.
By empowering disaffected students to reach their full potential in college and career, Publicolor directly addresses of the root causes of poverty: the undereducation of our students, and their lack of preparedness for the workforce.
Our youth development programs are anchored in high expectations and the belief that when students experience daily successes, they build the self-confidence necessary to achieve more in all areas of their life.
Uniquely, 100% of our work impacts the school community, and 100% of our students are engaged in community service.
