Evaluation Manager

The Evaluation Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive strategy for collecting and analyzing and presenting program data to ensure that the organization strengthens, broadens, and deepens its impact. They will track and evaluate project outcomes and identify areas for program improvement.   

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement internal systems for ongoing measurement and assessment of program implementation and outcomes.

  • Participate in regular discussions with Founder/Presidents and staff to improve program outcomes and advance the mission of Publicolor.

  • Primarily manage all administrative aspects of research and evaluation. Coordinate with IT staff on the management of the internal database.

  • Work closely with program staff to ensure accurate and effective data collection of high-quality, relevant, and timely information.

  • Coordinate with development staff to report helpful and accurate program data that enhances reporting of grant outcomes and ongoing fundraising efforts.

  • Research what major foundations youth are funding and the metrics they are interested in. Gather the statistics necessary to help the development team engage these foundations. 

  • Stay abreast of and report on external research and evaluation in the field of youth development, education, and career-readiness.  

  • Communicate and disseminate research findings in a manner that is accessible and easily understood using compelling data visualizations.  


Qualifications:  

  • Passionate curiosity and the ability to think creatively about data tracking and evaluation.

  • Must be able to establish priorities and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven organization, and be flexible when priorities shift.

  • Strong analytical and research skills.

  • Results-oriented and meticulous, highly attentive to details in all aspects of work.

  • Strong writing and oral communication skills.

  • Adept with computer database and spreadsheet programs. Experience with File Maker Pro preferred.

 

Education + Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least 4 years of relevant experience in data analysis and program/project evaluation.  Master’s degree is preferred, with graduate work in public policy, public administration, education, or sociology especially relevant.

Program Coordinator/Site Leader

Publicolor is a youth development organization that uses project-based learning models to address under-education and learning loss. For 27 years, Publicolor has been committed to engaging high-risk, low-income students in their education. Honored twice by the White House by Clinton and Obama, Publicolor’s goal is to ensure educational equity and economic equality for all students. Our gateway program is Paint Club, where students learn the commercial skill of painting as they paint carefully chosen colors to transform a school’s cold, institutional-looking environment into a warm and welcoming space for learning. Color has enormous power, and research supports that changing environments changes attitudes and behavior.

 

About the position

Publicolor is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team of site leaders to lead our Paint Club Program.

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Implementing the Paint Club curriculum and reinforcing painting techniques.

Managing a weekly budget and submission of expense reports.

Tracking scope of work project, ensuring the project timeline is on schedule.

Coordinating events such as Program Orientation, Color Vote, Family Painting Day, and Awards Ceremony.

Recruitment of students within the school, promotion of program; cultivating relationships with students, school leadership, and key stakeholders.

Collecting program data in compliance with grant and Department of Education requirements and guidelines, ensuring all pertinent documents are submitted in a timely manner.

Ensuring the Paint Club’s transformation of school spaces is completed within the project timeline and the quality of work is up to Publicolor’s standard of excellence.

Working directly with students to help them achieve the project goals and their individual learning.

 

Qualifications:

Candidates must be upbeat, hands-on, highly organized with an eye for detail, and genuinely excited about the prospect of engaging difficult to reach students in their education. Commercial and/or mural painting, art education, or graphic/industrial design background a plus!

Candidates must be fully vaccinated, willing to travel to all boroughs and available to work a Tuesday-Saturday schedule (Typically Tuesday-Friday 2-6pm, Saturday 8:30 am to 5 pm).

Candidates must undergo a background check as a condition of your employment.

Publicolor offers a competitive hourly rate and a monthly metro card for this position. This is a full-time position.

Salary: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
