Event Manager

The Events Manager will work closely with the Founder/President, staff, and the organization’s boards to manage and coordinate all fundraising events at Publicolor. The ideal candidate has a proven track record coordinating small and large nonprofit event logistics, supervising support staff and partnerships for our annual gala, and producing and distributing marketing materials. The Events Manager will join the team in supporting and championing the mission of Publicolor and will enjoy and embrace the organization’s driven and passionate culture.



  • Lead planning and coordination of event operations from start to finish with President/Founder, development team, and program team.

  • Lead the event team for the annual gala and other fundraising events, including working with honorees, committees, individuals, and corporate supporters

  • Train, supervise, and work with staff to execute event functions.

  • Recommend, develop, and implement effective marketing plans for generating event revenues.

  • Execute post-event follow-up, including thank you emails to all donors in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate corporate volunteers for our site transformations, which includes before and after communications. This will also include greeting and checking in volunteers when they arrive.


  • At least 3-5 years experience in a nonprofit senior event management position, managing small and large special events (350+ guests).

  • Able to successfully cultivate and expand relationships with current and potential donors.

  • Successful event management, marketing, and fundraising skills and experience with a nonprofit organization.

  • Must have a strong sense of accountability.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be a team player with leadership skills and the ability to adapt quickly to organizational needs.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage concurrent tasks efficiently.

  • Exceptional client service skills and enjoy working with the public.

  • Must be hyper-organized and detail-oriented.

  • BS/BA in marketing, event/hospitality management, or related field is a plus.

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn fundraising software programs.

Evaluation Manager

The Evaluation Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive strategy for collecting and analyzing and presenting program data to ensure that the organization strengthens, broadens, and deepens its impact. They will track and evaluate project outcomes and identify areas for program improvement.   


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Establish and implement internal systems for ongoing measurement and assessment of program implementation and outcomes.

  • Participate in regular discussions with Founder/Presidents and staff to improve program outcomes and advance the mission of Publicolor.

  • Primarily manage all administrative aspects of research and evaluation. Coordinate with IT staff on the management of the internal database.

  • Work closely with program staff to ensure accurate and effective data collection of high-quality, relevant, and timely information.

  • Coordinate with development staff to report helpful and accurate program data that enhances reporting of grant outcomes and ongoing fundraising efforts.

  • Research what major foundations youth are funding and the metrics they are interested in. Gather the statistics necessary to help the development team engage these foundations. 

  • Stay abreast of and report on external research and evaluation in the field of youth development, education, and career-readiness.  

  • Communicate and disseminate research findings in a manner that is accessible and easily understood using compelling data visualizations.  


  • Passionate curiosity and the ability to think creatively about data tracking and evaluation.

  • Must be able to establish priorities and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven organization, and be flexible when priorities shift.

  • Strong analytical and research skills.

  • Results-oriented and meticulous, highly attentive to details in all aspects of work.

  • Strong writing and oral communication skills.

  • Adept with computer database and spreadsheet programs. Experience with File Maker Pro preferred.


Education + Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least 4 years of relevant experience in data analysis and program/project evaluation.  Master’s degree is preferred, with graduate work in public policy, public administration, education, or sociology especially relevant.
